If you have sensitive teeth you may feel a sudden pain or discomfort, which often occurs when eating or drinking something cold, hot, sweet or sour.
Causes of sensitive teeth
Sensitivity can be temporary or more permanent. It may be caused by cracks or cavities in the teeth. An incorrect tooth brushing technique or loosening of teeth (periodontitis) may cause gum recession, leaving the root surfaces exposed and sensitive.
Oral hygiene advice
Use a toothbrush with soft filaments and fluoride toothpaste, because fluoride can ease the pain of sensitive teeth. If the problem remains, seek advice from your dentist or dental hygienist
